From December 8th to 11th, 2025, the global film industry turned its attention to Bangkok, where Barco showcased its Series 4 projectors, ICMP-XS media processor, and groundbreaking Barco HDR solutions at CineAsia. During the event, both 4K and 2K laser projectors were displayed, suitable for theaters of various sizes, immersing audiences in bright, vibrant, and clear images. Barco's next-generation, highly integrated media server, the ICMP-XS, attracted significant attention within the industry. This innovative platform integrates audio processors, media servers, and streaming media players, significantly reducing the number of devices and connection complexity. It offers improved system stability, revolutionary ease of use, and optimized operating costs. The Barco Smart Amplifier was also showcased, featuring high power, excellent integration, and user-friendly design, making it perfectly compatible with the Barco ICMP-XS and Series 4 platforms. A major highlight of the CineAsia experience zone was Barco HDR, which allowed guests to experience this leading film production and projection solution firsthand. Powered by patented Lightsteering technology, Barco HDR precisely controls light to expand the dynamic range of images, achieving highlights with brightness levels of 300 nits (six times the SDR standard) and shadows as low as 5 millinits (one-fifth of the SDR standard). This results in a vast color space and rich detail on the big screen.
Barco HDR delivers a complete industry chain solution, covering everything from front-end film production and post-production color grading to final theatrical projection. Through LS4K-P projectors, HDR Lightbox, and color grading plugins, filmmakers can perform HDR color grading and optimization directly on their films, allowing for review and adjustments at any time, leading to smooth and efficient post-production.
